A Migrant's Guide to Scotland - Human Rights Consortium Scotland

A Migrant's Guide to Scotland is a practical resource developed by Human Rights Consortium Scotland to support migrants, refugees and people newly arriving in Scotland. Bringing together essential information on rights, services and everyday life, the guide aims to make navigating a new country more accessible, empowering and informed.

As Designer and Illustrator, I was responsible for developing the publication's visual identity, layout and illustrations, ensuring complex information could be communicated clearly and accessibly to diverse audiences. The design approach prioritised clarity, inclusivity and ease of navigation, using illustration and visual storytelling to create a welcoming and user-friendly experience.

Working closely with the project team, I translated detailed information on housing, healthcare, employment, education and human rights into an engaging publication that balances practicality with empathy. The final guide supports individuals and families as they build new lives in Scotland while helping ensure access to information is not a barrier to participation, belonging or wellbeing.
